Business Information
Business books and information are situated on the first
floor in Reading Central Library. The resources we have
include:
- Mintel market research reports
- Corporate Researcher - company
information database
- COBRA database of factsheets for small businesses
- Trade directories
- Local business directories
- Reference books on business topics
The business collection also includes a wide range of
lending stock which covers accountancy, management and
personnel management, personal finance, marketing and
advertising as well as job hunting and writing CVs.
You can use our databases for free, or we can search for
and supply information to you directly – we can provide
quotes for the cost of supplying the information you need on
request. Information can often be e-mailed directly to you.
Law
Reading Libraries have the Public General Acts from
1820 We also have
the printed version of Halsbury’s Laws of England.
Reading Libraries also stocks a wide selection of law textbooks as well as
a range of guides to different areas of the law including employment law,
divorce, wills and probate.
Education and Lifelong Learning
At the central library we have copies of printed guides to local schools,
performance tables, copies of the national curriculum, Key stage tests and
national guides for schools. For further and higher education we also hold
reference copies of undergraduate prospectuses and some postgraduate
prospectuses as well as a series of directories on helping you choose an
appropriate course nationwide. We also work in partnership with the Open
University and we hold reference copies of many of their core textbooks.
All Reading libraries hold UCAS directories and free copies of prospectuses
of local courses at colleges.

The library holds hard copies of the main committee reports and a range of
other official council documents.
